Blues guitarist takes center stage

Bobby Carrillo-Thompson is a mesmerizing guitarist and captivating vocalist who has carved out a place as one of the Mid-Atlantic’s most dynamic blues and rock artists. Cutting his teeth in Washington, D.C.’s legendary blues clubs, he absorbed the lessons of mentors like Bobby Parker and Tom Principato, forging a style that blends fiery guitar work with soulful storytelling.

Oud keeps the world turning

This Friday on World Turning Ron will be welcoming oud player, Sheikh Abed Manasra. Sheikh Manasra is a leader of the Abrahamic Reunion — a peace-building non-governmental organization in Israel / Palestine. In addition to some authentic music, Abed and Ron will have a discussion regarding the work of the Abrahamic Reunion.

Abed Alsalam Manasra is a musician and peace worker from Nazareth, Israel. As a musician, Abed plays the oud, an ancient instrument that is the ancestor of the lute. Abed is also an ordained Sheikh in the Tariqat Qadriyya As-Salaam (Qadiri Sufi Order Of Peace). As a peace worker, Abed brings together leaders from diverse faiths and communities to promote dialogue, connection, understanding, healing and trust. Thousands have attended these events in Israel and Palestine.
